Joe Aguayo

Joseph Aguayo is Principal Data Scientist for Corporate Information Security at BB&T / Truist. He is responsible for protecting critical infrastructure with full-stack security analytics, including software applications, computer and network infrastructure, business processes, and people. Prior to joining BB&T, Joseph served at the US Department of Defense where he developed cutting-edge cloud platforms and analytics for computer security and identity management. As a computer scientist, he has held academic appointments at NC State University, Shaw University, and the University of Maryland.

Joseph received an MS in Computer Science from the University of Tulsa, and maintains CISSP certification. He also holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma, where he was a member of the Journal of Law and Technology.
