Defensive Knowledge and Skills Challenges

POWERED BY

SimSpace is pleased to host the Defensive Knowledge & Skills Challenge – 2 hours of training to test and build your defensive cybersecurity skills available across this three-day symposium.

The contest will test a participant’s knowledge, technical thought process, technical proficiency, and ability to complete a series of tasks aligned to the Detect, Analyze, and Respond portions of the Incident Response life cycle.

There will be 2 ways to participate. You may only participate in one of the two options:

  1. CTF: Live during the conference, SimSpace will run this challenge as a “Capture the Flag,” a common cybersecurity competition format. This event will have a public leaderboard for each session. At the end of the symposium, the top 3 performers across the CTF sessions will be presented with Amazon gift cards.
  2. Private: For those that wish to partake in the content and keep their scores private, we will provide a separate session to take the challenge. The participant will receive an anonymized report at the end of the conference to compare their performance across the NIST’s NICE knowledge, skills, and abilities framework and their rank against others who have completed this challenge.

Pre-registration is required and limited to 50 participants in each session. We are planning to hold one session on day one and two sessions each on days 2 and 3 of the symposium. Participants will use their own laptops and access the challenge via a web browser. SimSpace cybersecurity training may be applied for CPEs with most major certification providers.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers of the CTF at the conclusion of the Conference with Amazon gift cards of $200, $100, and $50 for first, second, and third places respectively.
